Saint Katherine Drexel Parish Life In The Spirit Seminar

The Current of Grace flowed in a torrent in Boston the evening of May 6, 2024. The Life in the Spirit Seminar organized by the People of Praise Nigerian prayer group had reached it's fifth session. This is when those attending who have made a decision to commit to Christ, seek a full outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Father Patrick Alemeyo presided during the Mass and program. During his homily Father Patrick stressed the importance of people making a strong commitment a first time in their lives. Then we should regularly recommit to Christ and seek to the Holy Spirit's movement in our lives. Accordingly the forty people attending were addressed in two groups -- those making an initial commitment to Jesus and those renewing their commitment. 

After the homily the newly committed were called up, given a candle and carnation, and led in a commitment prayer by Ginny Rossini, a member of the CRS Boston Evangelization Ministry. Then those renewing their commitment were invited to come forward and renew their commitment. 

At the end of Mass Father Patrick first anointed each recommitting person. Members of the Evangelization Ministry and from other prayer groups interceded, laying hands on each person being anointed. Father Augustine Odinkalu joined Father Patrick in anointing.

Next the newly committed were called forward to be anointed. The recommitted people laid hands and interceded for them during their anointing.  

During the service Emeka Mike Ihionu led the group in times of praise. Romanus Ajaero, the Director of Carismatic Renewal Service, Boston and a seminar organizer urged all to be open to any messages or guidance they sensed from the Holy Spirit. He urged sharing what they hear or see or hear form the Lord, especially in dreams. Sister Christiana Onyewuche shared that she had a vision of angels fluttering by the tabernacle. Ralph Ilona, the seminar coordinator urged everyone to continue with the remaining seminar sessions to help their growth in the Spirit. Jean Morrissey from the Medway prayer group shared how she has been blessed by the Holy Spirit since she first committed to the Holy Spirit's current of grace in 1976. She urged looking forward to this wonderful blessing now activated in their lives.
